Thomas, 46, as pres­i­dent and CEO on Sept. 1. Thomas’ pre­de­ces­sor as CEO, Dr. Patrick Quin­lan, 62, was named CEO of Och­sner Clinic Foun­da­tion and Och­sner In­ter­na­tional Ser­vices and ex­ec­u­tive di­rec­tor of the Cen­ter for Community Well­ness and Health Pol­icy, ac­cord­ing to a news re­lease. Michael Hule­feld, 39, takes over as COO of the sys­tem from Thomas, who al­ready was serv­ing as pres­i­dent. Hule­feld, who also gets the ti­tle of ex­ec­u­tive VP, cur­rently is CEO of Och­sner Med­i­cal Cen­ter and New Orleans re­gion. Rob Wolter­man, 39 and CEO of New Orleans Community Hos­pi­tals, was named as Hule­feld’s re­place­ment as CEO of Och­sner Med­i­cal Cen­ter, Och­sner’s flag­ship fa­cil­ity. Dr. Richard Mi­lani, 57, vice chair­man in the depart­ment of car­di­ol­ogy, was named to the new role of chief clin­i­cal trans­for­ma­tion of­fi­cer, and is charged with con­tin­u­ing to im­prove pa­tient safety and qual­ity at Och­sner, Thomas said.
