Garry Men­zel will join DaVita Health­care Part­ners as CFO in Septem­ber. Men­zel, 48, will start at the Den­ver-based com­pany as se­nior VP of fi­nance and then of­fi­cially be­gin serv­ing as CFO af­ter the com­pany files its third-quar­ter fi­nan­cial re­sults. Since 2008, Men­zel has served as COO and CFO of San Diego bio­phar­ma­ceu­ti­cal com­pany Reg­u­lus Ther­a­peu­tics. He as­sumes the CFO role from in­terim CFO James Hil­ger, since April 2012, who will re­main with the com­pany as chief ac­count­ing of­fi­cer.

James Scog­gin Jr. will re­tire Oct. 1 as pres­i­dent of HCA’s North Texas Di­vi­sion. Scog­gin, 55, is a 26-year HCA vet­eran who has served since 2006 as pres­i­dent of the di­vi­sion that in­cludes 14 hos­pi­tals in the Dal­las-Fort Worth and Ok­la­homa City mar­kets. Health­land, which de­vel­ops health IT for ru­ral and crit­i­cal-ac­cess hos­pi­tals, named Chris Bauleke CEO, ef­fec­tive July 8. Bauleke, 46, comes to Min­neapo­lis-based Health­land from McKes­son Corp., where he most re­cently was a pres­i­dent in its con­nec­tiv­ity unit, Re­layHealth. He will suc­ceed who will serve as Angie Franks, pres­i­dent and lead the com­pany’s strat­egy and mar­ket de­vel­op­ment.
