Dr. Michael Williams has been named chief medical information officer at the University of Virginia Health System, Charlottesville.
Williams, 37, a pediatrician, will manage information technology systems at the academic medical center and serve as a liaison between IT staff and clinical staff.
Williams has served as a regional CMIO for North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System, Great Neck, N.Y., since March 2012. He also was the first CMIO at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, the flagship facility of Navicent Health in Macon.
