Providers will be rewarded for quality, accountability
Regarding the recent article “GE will steer workers to Northwestern Memorial for hip and knee surgeries” (ModernHealthcare.com, Nov. 29), this agreement makes eminent sense, as do the many others across this country being shaped by hospitals and clinicians with employers. This is the way forward for the best providers that are transparent and outcomes-driven. They will be well rewarded over time with increased volume, not only by other purchasers following suit, but also by a public that is seeking the best in care.
It’s just one more example of the power of accountability, which, in turn, is driven by a culture focused on outcomes and high performance. Martin Diamond
