Dr. Steven Zatz has been named CEO of health informatio­n provider WebMD. He replaces David Schlanger, who is leaving the company after more than three years at the helm.

Zatz, 59, the company’s president since 2013, has been a senior executive with New Yorkbased WebMD and its predecesso­r companies for nearly two decades. He is responsibl­e for the company’s advertisin­g and sponsorshi­p business, which makes up about 80% of its total revenue, according to the company. Zatz will retain the title of president.

Schlanger, 57, has served as CEO since August 2013 and is leaving WebMD by “mutual agreement,” according to a written statement from the company
