Dr. Jeremy Boal has been named president of Mount Sinai Downtown in New York City, the network of physician offices and treatment centers that Mount Sinai Health System is spending $500 million to develop.
Boal, 49, will also take the helm of Mount Sinai Beth Israel in the East Village neighborhood, an aging medical center that is being phased out. He will eventually lead a replacement facility on a nearby site with an emergency department and far fewer beds. He replaces Susan Somerville.
Annmarie Erickson has been named VP and chief governance officer at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, effective Nov. 28. She succeeds Edith
Eisenmann, who will retire at year-end.
Erickson most recently was a consultant for the Detroit Regional Chamber Foundation, which serves the city’s business community. Previously she was executive VP and COO of the Detroit Institute of Arts. She departed in June after 17 years with the museum.
Andrea Leslie has been named president of Spectrum Health’s United and Kelsey hospitals in Michigan. She replaces Brian Brasser, who was recently named senior VP of Nexus, an operational initiative to implement Epic electronic health record software at the 12-hospital Spectrum system, based in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Leslie has served as chief nursing officer for Greenville-based United and Lakeview-based Kelsey since 2013. She began her healthcare career in 1997 as a nurse at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids.
Arlington Heights, Ill.-based Amita Health has named two new executives. G. Thor Thordarson has been named executive VP and COO. He replaces David Crane, who resigned last December. Dr. Stuart
Marcus has been named chief clinical officer. In the newly created role, Marcus will focus on growth of the system’s clinical service lines.
Thordarson previously was president and CEO of IU Health’s La Porte (Ind.) Hospital. Marcus was president and CEO of St. Vincent Health Services in Bridgeport, Conn.
T.J. DeAngelis has been named chief nursing officer of Summa Health System’s Barberton (Ohio) Campus. DeAngelis replaces Kathy Jobe, who retired earlier this year.
DeAngelis has worked at Summa Health for 11 years. He was previously nursing VP for medicalsurgical, telemetry and patient experience at Summa’s campus in Akron, Ohio.
Brian Shockney has been named COO of IU Health’s Bloomington (Ind.) Hospital. He replaces Matt Bailey, who was promoted to regional president of four IU Health facilities.
Shockney, 51, most recently was COO for IU Health’s Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Ind. He also served as CEO of Logansport (Ind.) Memorial Hospital.
David Clay has been named CEO of Lower Keys Medical Center in Key West, Fla., effective Nov. 28. He replaces Nicki Will, who stepped down in July after 13 years as CEO.
Clay most recently was CEO of Sandhills Regional Medical Center in Hamlet, N.C. Previously, Clay held a variety of executive roles at hospitals in North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Texas.
