Value-based payment is crucial to fixing our healthcare system

Regarding the poll, “The way forward on value-based pay initiatives?” (ModernHealthcare.com, Dec. 22): It is not a question of why value-based payment needs to stay and be expanded; it’s the only way to deliver the highquality affordable care our patients deserve. U.S. Rep. Tom Price (President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for HHS secretary) has no clue what he is talking about. I am hopeful that good sense will prevail once he is in office.
