Mark Solazzo

NORTHWELL HEALTH NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y.

Solazzo has been executive vice president and COO of Northwell Health since 2005. He oversees the health system’s 21 hospitals, 550-plus ambulatory sites, a medical group of nearly 4,000 physicians and 40 clinical and nonclinical joint ventures, including the CareConnect health plan. Prior to his appointment to COO in 2005, Solazzo served as chief of staff and chief administrative officer to Northwell President and CEO Michael Dowling. Before joining Northwell in 1995, Solazzo held a number of senior level positions within the New York State Department of Social Services over his 15-year tenure. He is a member of the Healthcare Institute and the Health Management Academy and serves on the board of directors of HANYS Solutions, the for-profit arm of the Healthcare Association of New York State. Since 2009, Solazzo has been an adjunct professor at St. Joseph’s College in New York, teaching graduate-level healthcare management courses.
