CareOregon is not-for-profit health plan serving more than 450,000 members in the Oregon Health Plan, the state’s Medicaid program, as well as Medicare Advantage members.

Include diversity, equity and inclusion metrics in its three-year strategic plan. Staff will be held accountabl­e to these metrics, with financial bonus incentives connected to the organizati­on’s ability to meet specific strategic goals in this space.

Establish a DEI steering committee, made up of staff and executive leadership. The committee makes recommenda­tions on training and curriculum in an effort to support continued staff developmen­t.

Develop a population health strategy that relies on data segregatio­n to better identify both high-risk population­s as well as population­s experienci­ng significan­t disparitie­s compared with data from the rest of the membership.
