Insurrectionists should face prosecution

-

It really doesn’t matter if I am a Democrat, a Republican or an independent. What matters is that I am an American and I served my country and am a veteran of the Vietnam War. When I was drafted, I took an oath to “Defend and Protect” my country, my Constitution and the people of this nation. That oath did not end when my time of service ended … it holds true to this day.

With that in mind, I would like to remind Mr. Burleson, of Seaside, that it was not the followers of President- elect Biden that stormed the Capitol and threatened the legitimate authority of this great country of ours. They are all guilty of sedition, guilty of treason and should be prosecuted in federal court under those charges. This is the FIRST TIME in America’s history that our presidential election, our “revolution” has not been a peaceful one … the kind that our founding fathers set up at the birth of our nation. So let us not follow the cult of demagoguery of one man or one party. We have many constitutional mechanisms that can protect this country from petty tyrants, and those who would try to usurp the legal powers that are America’s duly elected leaders. Let us not walk down the same road as those nations ruled by despots, oligarchs and tyrants. For those who did not vote for Mr. Biden, you can legally exercise your choice in four years, when we will once again, G- d willing, have a peaceful “revolution.”
