Norma Quinn, a long-time resident of Pacific Grove, passed away after a brief (non-COVID) illness. She was preceded in death by Robert Quinn, her husband of 61-years who was a former mayor of Pacific Grove. As well as two children, Kevin Quinn, Susan Juarez, and her sister Gloria Schuyler (nee Delgado). Norma is survived by her son. Shawn Quinn and grandson Robert “Joshua” Quinn of Pacific Grove. Grandchildren Moises Juarez, Selena Juarez, and four great-grandchildren all of Stockton, CA. In addition, she leaves behind her brother Hector Delgado Jr. and sister Roberta Mier (nee Delgado) both of Florida. She was born to Hector and Visitacion “Aida” Delgado (nee Alonso) in the immigrant-rich Ybor City area of Tampa, Florida. Her family members left Spain for the United States by way of The Canary Islands, then on to Cuba so as to await sponsorship and permission to enter the U.S. for a new life of opportunity. Most of her family members who made this trek started out by working in the Ybor City factories rolling cigars. We would like to thank all of her many friends, neighbors, and former co-workers who treated her so well and cared for her deeply throughout her lifetime. Each of you made her life both interesting and fulfilling. Norma felt very blessed and thankful to have had such wonderful people in her life. For more on Norma’s interesting life story, photos, and information on her upcoming memorial service on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, visit www.normaquinn.com.
