Festivals go fromfields to streams thisweeken­d

Festivals have been sidelined by the COVID-19 pandemic — in person, at least. But this weekend they go from fields to streams for viewing and listening pleasure.

• The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival lives online with Virtual Roo-ality, four days of archived performanc­es through Saturday — including sets by Metallica, James Brown, the White Stripes, andmore, aswell as the Beastie Boys’ final concert — via Youtube. The lineup and schedule are at bonnaroo. com.

• The Philly Music Fest streams live from the Ardmore Music Hall at 7 p.m. today via Nugs.tv. Performers include Japanese Breakfast, the Districts, Mt. Joy, Langhorne Slim, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah andmore. Admission is free.

• The 63rd edition of the Monterey Jazz Festival will be virtual, streaming on Youtube at 8 p.m. today through Sunday.

• Farm Aid’s 35th show goes “On the Road” with a virtual festival at 8 p.m. Saturday via Youtube, Farmaid.org and AXS TV. Performers include Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young, Dave Matthews, Bonnie Raitt, Brandi Carlile, the Black Pumas, Chris Stapleton, the War and Treaty and many more. Proceeds continue to help family farmers around the U.S.

• Heavy rockers Lamb of God play their entire 2004 album “Ashes of the Wake” virtually from Richmond, Va., at 5 p. m. today. A pre- show begins at 4 p.m.; $15 via watch. lamb- of- god.com.

• The Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s digital fall series continues with Tito Munoz conducting pieces by Bach and Takemitsu at 7:30 p.m. today live from Orchestra Hall. Tickets available via dso.org.

• The Metropolit­an Opera Theatre’s nightly streaming series goes all- Puccini this weekend, with a 2018 performanc­e of “Tosca” today, a 2019 presentati­on of “Turandot” on Saturday and the iconic “La Boheme” from 2008 on Sunday. All at 7:30 p.m. viametoper­a.org.

• Guitarists Damon Johnson and Judas Priest’s Richie Faulkner join forces for “A Tribute to Thin Lizzy” at 8 p. m. today; $10 and $25 via veeps.com.

• “Fandango at the Wall”: The inspiring documentar­y, co- produced by Quincy Jones and Carlos Santana, about the recording of a live album featuringm­exican musicians at the border wall with the United States debuts at 8 p.m. today on HBO.

• Nugs. net is bringing live music back to scenic Red Rocks Amphitheat­re in Colorado, virtually at least, with four shows streaming in 4G starting with Tiesto at 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, and including Fitz and the Tantrums on today, Michigan’s Billy Strings on Saturday, and Lotus on Sunday. Admission is $19.99 per show or $39.99 for all four via nugs.net.

• Perpetual Groove plays a full band, full- production concert from Music Matters in Atlanta at 9 p.m. today via nugs.tv. Admission is free but special “seats” are available via pgroove.net.

• The Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra kicks off its 92nd season virtually with a Beethoven festival spotlighti­ng pianist Stewart Goodyear on Saturday and concertmas­ter Aaron Berofsky with his son, Charles, on Sunday both at 5:30 p.m. from the Kerrytown Concert House. • Michigan country singer Julianne Ankley and her band, the Rogues, celebrate their new album “With Love From Lake Huron” with a livestream concert at 7 p. m. Saturday night via Facebook Live.

• Washington, D.C., headbanger­s Darkest Hour celebrate the band’s 25th anniversar­y with a streaming concert at 7 p. m. Saturday, Sept. 26, via veeps.com; $10-$ 50. Proceeds go to the Black Cat employee fund to benefit workers at the D.C. nightclub.
