Ford GT supercar arrives at Krapohl Ford & Lincoln
A 2020 GT Ford Heritage Edition supercar was delivered to Krapohl Ford & Lincoln for display within the dealership.
The car belongs to Mt. Pleasant native, Pat Jarman, who has owned six previous versions of the super car, with the 2020 version being the seventh to add to his collection.
“It’s a rare car and a good investment,” Jarman said. “It could be worth a million in a couple years.”
The 2020 Ford GT supercar is a rare model due to it’s color scheme and design which is based off the 1969 Gulf Racing No. 6 Ford gt40 race car which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
The 2020 supercar features 660horsepower, a 3.5 liter eco-boost, twin turbos, and a cost of around $500,000. Acquiring the car for display was part of a three year long application process to Ford in order to buy it.
“This one of around 40 supercars and the potential owners can fill out big form for it and watch a one minute video,” Ford GT Delivery Specialist Steven Coates said. “This one is going to the right person.
The supercar was delivered to Krapohl Ford & Lincoln on Friday, Sept. 25 around 10 a.m. and drew a large crowd of interested attendees who proceeded to thoroughly look and take pictures of the vehicle. Coates later provided Jarman and the dealership employees with an orientation on how to drive and look after the car as well as figure out how to get it into the dealership.
“The supercar is in need of special attention,” Coates said.
The car is expected to stay in the lobby for show for long term, potentially for all of winter as Jarman said.
