Christmas Outreach 2020 to provide guests with a drive-thru style distribution experience
In a show of good cheer amid the coronavirus pandemic, Christmas Outreach has decided to continue for the 2020 season.
Christmas Outreach is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and was first started by members of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant over 40 years ago. Their overall goal is to provide sponsored individuals with clothes, household goods, books, toys, and Christmas decorations among other items to families in need within the community.
This year, Christmas Outreach will be doing three days of drive-thru style distribution on Dec. 10, 11, and 12.
Donations can be made at Campus Life (the old Coca- Cola building) on 1200 High Street on Nov. 24from9 a.m. tonoonand 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Money donations can be mailed to Christmas Outreach of Isabellacounty, POBOX 1227 Mt. Pleasant, MI 48804.
The items needed to be given out this year includes new or gently used coats, hats, winter gloves, scarves, boots, snowpants, and blankets and sheets. Family’s will also get a gift basket from Delfield and children will get a Christmas stocking.
Those who want to attend the event must register early by calling 989317- 8733 through Friday and Oct. 19-21. Guests will get a formin themail
to fill out and return with their wish list and sizes. It is suggested that guests fill out these sheets ASAP to make sure departments have time to get everything needed.
Items will be given, prebagged, at a specific appointment time designated by prior to the event and guests will be required to wear masks and stay in their cars during
their pick-up time. I-ride will also be available for those who don’t have transportation, which will need to be marked in their forms.
