SHA powers itsway to 4-1

Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart Academy improved to 4-1 on the season Friday as it topped rival Ashley 4920 on the road.

Luke Predum and Gabe Ruggles both had great nights for the Irish as Predum caught five passes for 185 yards and three scores. Ruggles hit him with a 60yard score and then with a 50-yarder later in the game. Andrew Courtright also hit Predum with a 50-yard TD pass on his only throw of the night.

Predum also returned a kickoff for score.

Ruggles completed 9- of10 passes for 204 yards and four scores. Aidan Halliday had four catches for 39 yards and a score. Brady Gruss caught a 30-yard TD pass.

Courtright also added in 115-yards rushing on 12 carries and had a rushing score.

Ashley was led by Jimmy Fabus as he rushed 25 times for 121 yards and two scores. Logan Drummond completed one pass for 50 yards and had three kickoff returns for 97 yards. Aaron Drummond led the Ashley defense with 16 tackles. Baileylong chipped innine tackles, including three for loss.

Coleman 14, Montabella 6

The Coleman High School football team won its first game of the 2020 season Friday as it topped Montabella 14- 6.

Konnor Carbeno opened the scoring inthe first quarter with a 24-yard TD run to make it 6- 0.

Connor Schrank added in a 16-yard TD run in the third tomake it 12- 0 before quarterbac­k Ty Klopf hit Schrank with the conversion pass to push the lead to 14- 0.

Schrank had 147-yards rushing on 26 carries and two catches for 45 yards.

Carbeno carried it eight times for 44 yards.

Klopf completed 5- of-12 passes for 84 yards. Richard Sapphadnin­e tackleswhi­le Bo Carbeno had two sacks.

Dylan Penny and Kris Haney added in fumble recoveries.
