A barn south of Mt. Pleasant was called “a total loss” following a Sunday morning fire, one of two calls for the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department over the weekend.
Firefighters were called to 4989 E. Millbrook Road at approximately 5:20 a.m. Sunday for a barn fire. When they arrived, the barn was fully engulfed in flames.
Animals living near the barn were successfully moved away, said a press release from the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department.
The fire remains under investigation, although the barn is considered to be a total loss.

It was one of two fires handled by the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department over the weekend.
The first was at approximately 7:06 a.m. Saturday at a home on Pickard Road, west of Mt. Pleasant and east of Meridian Road.
