Organizers say the Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival will be back in April with limited events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Previously, the Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival was canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Recently, the festival committee had discussed the logistics holding the Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival during meetings at the beginning of 2021.

As of now, the festival events are planned to be held April 2325.

“The events which have been confirmed include the Pancake and Sausage Dinners, Class Car show, 5K Run, and Tractor Pull,” Jon Morgan, public relations chair for the festival committee, said.

The 5K Run, along with a halfmile fun run and a 10K run, is planned for April 24. The 5K run is currently planned for 8 a.m., the half-mile fun run is planned for 9 a.m., and the 10K is planned for 7:30 a.m.

Artisan Row’s Makers’ Market is expected to occur from April 23-25. It will be open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The classic car show is planned for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Tractor Pull is planned at 10 a.m. on April 24.

An Emergency Vehicle Parade is planned at dusk on April 24 and the Maple Syrup Parade is planned at 2:30 p.m. on April 25. A horse pull is also planned at 2 p.m. on April 24.

Maple Syrup and Candy sales are planned for April 24 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and for April 25 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Pancake and Sausage Meals are planned for April 24 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and April 25 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The cost of the meal is expected to be $9 per meal.

“This year, the festival will be taking precautions to keep attendees safe, for example the pancake and sausage dinners will be pick-up only,” Morgan said.
