Community members enjoy drive-thru Easter event
WCFX-FM and Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation’s Great Egg Rec N’ Ramble offered up safe Easter fun for attendees.
The drive-thru event, presented by Graff Mt. Pleasant, took place on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. Community members could pick up good bags filled with goodie bags filled with candy and trinkets. The event also featured make-and-take activities among other items from multiple community stops.
“With COVID-19 restrictions, we researched what others were doing and this was our best bet,” Recreation Coordinator Carol Moody said. “People at the locations will have masks, sanitizers and opportunities to wash their hands.”
The Community stops included the Mt. Pleasant Parks & Recreation/isabella Bank at City Hall, the Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum, Art Reach of Mid-michigan in the back of the building, Veteran’s Memorial Library, Graff Chevrolet on Pickard, Graff Buick GMC Cadillac on Mission, Thrive Church, Morey Courts and Mt. Pleasant Public Safety at Chipp-a-waters Park.
“We’ve had really amazing partners,” Moody said. “We contacted CFX, Art Reach, and the Discovery Museum as well as other places, incorporated their ideas and it took off from there.”
Participants can also pick up prize tickets from lucky eggs, which they can drop off at the Isabella Bank/mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation location at City Hall once they have reached all of the other locations.
The prizes include a $30 gift card from Texas Roadhouse, a 6-month family membership at Morey Courts, 2 full oil changes at Graff Chevrolet at Pickard in Mt. Pleasant, a $50 Visa gift card from Isabella Bank, a $50 gift certificate to the Mt. Pleasant Discovery Museum, a free mini masters class for the kids from Art Reach, a $50 gift card to Vin Trofeos from Thrive Church and free admission to a program/ event of the winner’s choosing from Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation.
“We suggest stopping by the Isabella Bank/mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation location last to drop off tickets,” Moody said.
The prize giveaways will be raffled on Facebook live through the Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation Facebook page with Isabella Bank at the end of the event.
“There’s potential to do something like this again for other holidays and events but it depends on protocols,” Moody said.
