Joshua Alan Morgan, age 18 of Shepherd, MI passed away Friday, April 2, 2021 at his home after a two year battle with brain cancer. Josh was born November 11, 2002, the son of Jon and Theresa (Boyne) Morgan and the brother of Kayla and Elijah. Josh was a Junior/senior at Shepherd High School and had a passion for helping others and an avid interest in computers and video games. He enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends, watching movies, cuddling with cats, and playing Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. He faced his cancer journey, with courage, strength, hard work and a positive attitude, even learning how to walk and talk again. He was loved by everybody who knew him and known for his bright smile, sharp wit, and enthusiast­ic thumbs up. Josh is survived by his mother, Theresa, father Jon, sister, Kayla and brother Elijah all of Shepherd, MI; grandmothe­rs Nancy (Jeffrey) Boyne of Marlette, MI and Sandra (Cornell) Morgan of Hartland, MI; aunts and uncles Amy and Jerry Gauthier of Wabash, IN; Jeff and Kim Boyne of West Salem, WI; Susan Volz of Marlette, MI; Sarah Boyne of Kalkaska, MI; and cousins, Allyson (Volz) Austin, Alexander Volz, Amelea (Volz) Anderson, Michael Drake, Francis Spiers, and Zachery Spiers. Josh was preceded in death by his grandfathe­rs Dennis Morgan of Hartland, MI and Terry Boyne of Marlette, MI. There will be a private service of remembranc­e for immediate family and close friends on Sunday, May 2 at 3 p.m. at the Berry Funeral Home ciating. The family will receive visitors from 1 p.m. until the time of service for those who wish to pay their respects. The service will be livestream­ed on the Berry Funeral Home Facebook page and available to watch later as well. Jon, Theresa, Kayla, and Elijah would like to extend a warm thank you to Josh’s family, friends, medical, rehab, and hospice teams, and the community of Shepherd for all of their warm and loving support over the past two years.
