ZELEZNIK, MARIAN
Marian Zeleznik, age 92 was born to August Hofweber Amy Hofand weber (Campbell) in Detroit on December 2, 1928 and passed away on June 26, 2021 in Mt. Pleasant. She earned her pilots license at 16 years of
in her younger years. She graduated from University of Detroit and went on to earn 3 masters degrees from University of Miami at Coral Gables, St. Mary’s in Orchard Lake, and Central Michigan University. She taught school at St. Theresa’s in Detroit and Sacred Heart in Mt. Pleasant. She married John Martin Zeleznik, also from Detroit and had two sons. She was a member of VFW Post 5738 and was a member of the Clare Irish Committee for many years. Marian was also an avid reader and enjoyed watching college football, especially Notre Dame.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, brothers August “Jack” Hofweber, William “Bill” Hofweber, and sisters Sister Suzanne Hofweber and Dorothy Gatchell. She leaves behind her sons John “Jay” (Jennifer) Zeleznik, and Tim (Ronda) Zeleznik, grandsons Mark (Kelly) Zeleznik and Tom Zeleznik, step grandchildren Mikael Bukovinszky, Nikolaus Bukovinszky, and Cember Bukovinszky, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Hope Parish, St. Cecilia Site in Clare at 11 AM on Frikoper day, July 9, 2021 with Monsignor Francis
11 AM.; burial will follow in the St. Cecilia Catholic
