LAGROW, CAROL J.
Carol J. Lagrow, devoted wife, mother and grandmother, age 75 of Alma passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at home with family by her side. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11 am at Nativity of the Lord Catholic Church, Mt. St. Joseph site in St. Louis. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 5-7 pm at Lux-moody-wolfel Funeral Home, Alma with a prayer service to begin at 6:30 pm. Those desiring, may make memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice. Carol was born in Farmingdale, New York the daughter of Clarence “Clancy” and Charlotte A. (Felts) Lewis. She was a 1964 graduate of East Lansing High School and attended CMU in Mt. Pleasant, where she was a member of the Sigma Kappa sorority. Carol married Lawrence Lagrow on June 17, 1967 at St. Thomas Catholic Church in East Lansing. Carol was an avid Michigan State Spartan fan and one of her favorite things was spending time at the Clarence E. Lewis Arboretum, named after her father, located on the Michigan State University Campus. She was a faithful member of Nativity of the Lord Catholic Church in Alma. Carol worked as an office manager for Ophthamologist, Dr.
Keith Burns and Dr. Faye Millett, for over 25 years, before her retirement. After retirement, Carol spent much of her time, perfecting her artistic talents. She had a great eye for color and enjoyed making jewelry, painting silk scarves, drawing and especially painting with watercolor. Her true passion was sharing her love of art with her granddaughter and the light of her life, Mia. Every visit with Mia, included some type of art project they completed together. Carol loved not only visual arts but had an enthusiastic appreciation of the performing arts and regularly attended Gratiot County Players theater productions. Carol is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry Lagrow of Alma; her daughter, Anne Lagrow of Alma; her son, Michael Lagrow of Clarkston; her granddaughter, Mia Lagrow; Shannon Pastrick and her children, Ashlyn and Lucas Carlson; and a sister, Marcia (Doug) Relyea.
