VANLIEW, PATRICIA LOUISE, age 70, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at her home with her family by her side. Funeral Services for Patricia will take place at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Monday, February 6, 2023, at 11 a.m. with Deacon Larry Fussman officiatin­g. A luncheon will be held immediatel­y following in the Reflection­s Reception Center. The family will greet friends on Sunday, February 5, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Monday beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Sunday evening at 7:30, a vigil service will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel. Patricia was born in Mason, Michigan on February 19, 1952, the daughter of Earl and Virginia (Whitney) Burt. She married Gary Vanliew on April 17, 1970, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Winn. Time spent with her grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren was most important to her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r, greatgrand­mother, and mom to all other children needing anything. Beyond family, she loved her summer flowers, traveling, and decorating her home. Patricia is survived by her husband Gary Vanliew; children Amy (James) Thering of Mt. Pleasant, Tracey (Chad) Cook of Mt. Pleasant, nephew Chris Darnell of Naples, FL; grandchild­ren Makaila Cook (Joe Risch), Alex (Rose) Cook, Chris Cook (Cody Bunner), Nate Thering, Adam Thering, Ben Thering; great-grandchild­ren Owen Cook, Layne Risch, Remi Risch, Oaklee Risch; sisters Sharon (Karl) Opheim of Bay City, Judy Burt of Remus; brotherin-law Ron (Cathy) Vanliew of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law Pat Vanliew; sister-in-law Kenna Jean Rauch; and nephew Jeremy Vanliew.
