Canterbury East, Oxford Row water shut-off avoided at last minute
A Mt. Pleasant apartment complex owner’s last-minute payment for a past due water bill averted shutoff, as residents there and at other Millennia Housing Management-owned properties throughout the country continue to complain about unsafe conditions.
Residents of Oxford Row and
Canterbury East apartment complexes in Mt. Pleasant took to social media in desperation late
Wednesday sharing photos of city water shutoff notices.
Many expressed fear that their water — included in their rents — was about to be shut off and there was nothing they could do about it.
Mt. Pleasant Spokeswoman Darcy Orlik said Millennia’s water bills at Oxford Row and Canterbury East were paid as of 10:10 a.m. Thursday, after residents took to social media to complain about the Ohio-based Millennia not paying the water bills that are included in the rent.
