“At Tractor Supply, our mission is to educate and inspire our younger customers through interactive learning experiences,” said Alma store manager, Doug Priest. “We recognize the time and energy that goes into cultivating plant life, and we want to share our knowledge with this younger generation as they begin to discover their own interests and hobbies.”

Community members come out to the Alma Tractor Supply store for their Plant-a-seed event.

Tractor Supply stores generally do events once a month that encourages kids to do different activties related to the store’s rural identity and merchandise.

On Feb. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the kids could stop by and plant a Perennial Butterfly Garden, while supplies last.

Once complete, participants can take their seeds home to monitor their growth and watch them attract butterflies as they flourish. Team members were available to answer future questions and provide advice to these young gardeners.

“There are cups, wild flower seeds, and potting soil available and the kids can decorate them with stickers,” Rachel Krieg, one of the parents present with her family at Alma Tractor Supply store, said.
