GOVERNMENT spending gets more ridiculous every year — and here are some of the ways the feds wave bye-bye to your hard-earned cash! To make your suds greener, the Department of Agriculture splashed out $35,000 for solar panels at breweries in Michigan and Wyoming. The Treasury Department lost $70 million producing 5 billion pennies last year! A twoyear study conducted with partial funding from $450,000 in grants from the National Science Foundation examined whether dinosaurs were able to sing. Food stamp recipients were allowed to purchase $4.5 billion worth of junk food, gourmet coffee, alcohol, firearms and cars! The government allocated $1 million per year to create recipes for pizza and other meals that could be served on Mars — some day!

A study done by Vanderbilt University with over $300,000 from the National Eye Institute and National Science Foundation examined “whether boys or girls spend more time playing with Barbie dolls.” The Missile Defense Agency continues to fund a rocket launch site in Alaska that could cost the organization up to $80.4 million. The “spaceport to nowhere” is 20 years old, “rarely used” and was established with an

$18 million earmark!

As of 2016, the feds were holding on to about 770,000 unused and underutilized buildings — and their maintenance costs amount to about $1.7 billion annually!
