PERRY’S AUTOPSY SPARKS CALL FOR NEW DEATH PROBE

Where did Friends star get the drug that killed him?

TRAGIC Matthew Perry’s autopsy results are poised to trigger a new investigation into why the troubled drug addict was prescribed the medication that ultimately killed him — and who supplied the fatal dose, say sources.

“It’s starting to hit home hard Matthew was given terrible medical advice,” spills a concerned insider. “If he’d been lucky enough to have better people in his medical corner, he’d still be alive today.”

The Friends actor was found floating “face down” in the hot tub at his Pacific Palisades home on Oct. 28. He was 54. According to the autopsy report released by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office, he died from the acute effects of anesthetic ketamine, an FDA-approved injectable drug often used to treat depression and anxiety that is also widely available in other forms on the street. The report states Matthew had been on ketamine infusion therapy and had his last session a week and a half before his death. Since ketamine only stays in the system for a few hours, the deadly dose must have come from another source, experts suggest. Autopsy results listed drowning, coronary artery disease and effects of buprenorphine, which is used to treat opioid addiction, as contributing factors.

Perry’s death was ruled an accident, but sources claim his loved ones believe someone needs to be held accountable. Those close to Matthew believe medical personnel ignored the dangers he faced by being treated with a drug that could result in fatal abuse. And the identity of who supplied him with the fatal dose remains a mystery. “Addicts get sucked into thinking prescribed drugs are safe to use for temporary relief, and then they get hooked on them,” explains the insider. “For Matthew, having the ability to self-regulate was always an issue, so he never should have been given a drug that could kill him.”

As The National ENQUIRER recently revealed, calls to exhume Perry’s body were already spreading before the autopsy results were made public.

“Matthew’s death was suspicious and there were so many questions, some of which have now been answered,” says the insider. “As harsh as it sounds, many people liken it to murder and they’re demanding an investigation to bring the person or persons to justice. “Their dear friend is gone, and they won’t have any peace until those who are responsible are found. The truth is, Matthew didn’t have to die!”
