Desperately wants golden ticket to their inner circle
POUTY Duchess Meghan is devastated that power players Amal Clooney and Michelle Obama have shut her out of their circle, say sources.
“Meghan’s crushed,” snitches a spy. “Everyone knows she’s been angling for a friendship with both of these women and it hurts to be excluded.”
As The National ENQUIRER has reported, sources say conniving Meghan, 42, and her henpecked hubby, Prince Harry, 39, have largely been cold-shouldered by the Hollywood in-crowd, and that includes lawyer Amal, 45, and her hubby, George Clooney, 62.
“They didn’t get the welcome they were expecting,” dishes the spy. “It’s been a shock, and Meghan hasn’t been able to move past it.”
The royal renegades were said to have been “humiliated” when they were left off the guest list for the Clooneys’ star-studded Albie Awards gala in September and the insider insists the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are blaming Britain’s royal family for the freeze-out. “Meghan’s tried countless times to develop a friendship with Amal and has gotten nowhere,” explains the source. “She can’t help but assume that her in-laws have poisoned Amal against her. “She’s tried to let it go, but seeing Amal making headlines by talking about her special friendship with Michelle Obama has brought it all up again. Meghan’s seething with jealousy!”
Tipsters previously dished the power-crazed duchess had largely given up on the Clooneys, but sources say she’s still holding out hope for an alliance with former first lady Michelle.
“It’s got to be a gut punch seeing Amal and Michelle together because Meghan is still desperately trying to get Michelle’s approval and backing,” squeals the source. Even though Michelle, 59, and her hubby, Barack Obama, 62, reportedly blocked her attempt to become a U.S. senator from California, the Suits alum hasn’t stopped sucking up to the former president and his wife, adds the snitch.
“She can be very relentless when she has a goal in mind,” explains the source. “Despite Michelle’s snubs, she’s continually reaching out, trying to keep the connection alive.”
Meghan recently put on a brave face in Vancouver, Canada, while Amal and Michelle got chummy in Malawi, but privately she was said to be consumed with jealousy.
“Amal boasting about her friendship with Michelle is like salt in the wound because, at one point, Meghan imagined she’d be in the mix, too,” notes the source. “She’s very bitter she’s been blocked out and blames Harry’s family. She’s furious. Her ego has taken a huge hit!”
