JENNA ON THIN ICE!
Flailing Today host stumbles under fire
HARRIED host Jenna Bush Hager keeps making fumbles on Today — and fed-up bosses are considering sacking the former first daughter, tipsters tattle. “Jenna’s blundering — and the pressure’s mounting,” dishes an insider. And according to moles, the 42-year-old TV personality — whose dad is ex-prez George W. Bush — isn’t getting much sympathy from her professional peers!
In 2019, the Today contributor was promoted to replace retiring Kathie Lee Gifford, joining Hoda Kotb to helm the gabfest’s fourth hour.
“Jenna went into the job with lots of confidence and had some good moments,” the insider snitches.
“Now it’s increasingly clear she’s finding the grind a bit too much, and people who she thought were her friends are turning against her. She’s lost her confidence — and the respect of some of her colleagues.”
In November, Jenna referred to her husband, Henry Hager
— father of her children, Mila, 10, Poppy, 8, and Hal, 4 — as “daddy” on air, and just last month she was caught on camera searching her cellphone for notes!
Sources add the chatterbox was taken aback by guest Kevin Hart’s outburst after she chided the funnyman about a recent loss of the Philadelphia Eagles, his favorite football team.
The Ride Along star shouted, “I don’t need y’all to remind me what’s happening!”
The next day NBC newbie
Laura Jarrett,
40, filled in for Jenna — with Hoda telling the audience her on-air partner was “under the weather!”
Adds the insider, “Jenna feels everyone’s picking on her. People are whispering she’s on thin ice with bosses — and she very well may be unless she shapes up!”
MARRIED… with Children alum Ed O’Neill confesses he was nearly married to the Mob! After the college football star was cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1969 — he was competing for a defensive lineman slot with future Hall of Famer “Mean” Joe Greene — a shady childhood friend named Jim offered him some strong-arm work.
O’Neill recalls the guy saying, “You can do this kind of stuff for me, you know, I’ll protect you … Just you collect here.
You run, you drop something off here and there. You know, you may have to lean on a guy. You’re good at that. You can make some good money.” Broke and with just dreams of acting, Ed considered the proposal until his dad noticed he’d taken a ride with the local wise guy and asked, “Can you do time?”
The future Modern Family star, 77, said no and instead followed his showbiz dreams!
