TIPS FOR COLLECTING TEXTILES FROM DENNIS JUNE OF DENNIS JUNE GALLERY

-

Look for straight edges and square corners, consistent throughout.

Weavings should lie flat. Sometimes the selvage will be pulled too tight, or the yarn may migrate slightly, but can be loosened at the corners.

Patterns should be centered, typically vertically. They should not jump about or migrate across warps.

Colors should be consistent throughout and not change hue midstream.

Occasionally, mistakes in pattern assembly may occur and, unless a major distraction, should be considered part of the handmade charm
