CAMRYN GROWING THUNDER (ASSINIBOINE/SIOUX/KIOWA/COMANCHE)

-

Last year, Camryn Growing Thunder won First Place, Best of Classification and Best of Division at Indian Market for a traditional piece she created—a toy size Dakota soft back cradle with dentalium shells on red trade wool. Camryn, 15, learned beadwork at a young age but has discovered a love for mixed media. “For the past several years, I’ve been incorporating humor into my art. I like to have as much fun as possible when creating something, even if I’m just doodling in an art class. I value being able to laugh and have fun, and I’m grateful I can do this with my art,” says Camryn.
