PROSCINO, MICHAEL

Michael Proscino, 95, of Hamden, died Sept. 12, 2018 at Masonicare, Wallingford. He was the husband of the late Angelina Leona Proscino. Mike was born in New Haven, Oct. 3, 1922, the son of the late Enrico (Harry) and Mary Landino Proscino and was a lifelong Hamden resident. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and a member of Highwood Post 150, American Legion. He was employed at Sperry and Barnes for 25 years and then was a custodian for the Town of Hamden for many years, He enjoyed farming, trips to Florida but especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his children, Marie (Anthony) Ventura of East Haven, Elaine (Thomas) Alegi of Hamden and Michael H. (Fran) Proscino of Wallingford, a sister, Elsie Battipaglia of Hamden, grandchildren, Anthony, Julie, Laurie, Richard, Michael and Amanda and 5 great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a grandson, Thomas and siblings Antoinette Arnone, Mario, Ralph, and Albert Proscino. Funeral Monday at 10:45 from the Peter H. Torello & Son F.H., 1022 Dixwell Ave., Hamden and at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 11:30. Interment in Centerville Cemetery, with full military honors.
