Lamberti sets stolen base record at SCSU

Nick Lamberti set the all-time stolen base record for the Southern Connecticu­t State baseball team, which edged New Haven 5-4 Tuesday in a Northeast-10 Conference game at West Haven.

Lamberti stole his 76th and 77th career bases, allowing him to pass Marc Potocsky (2002) to become the all-time leader. Head coach Tim Shea won his 466th game, tying him with former coach Joe Bandiera at the top of the all-time wins list for the Owls (18-25, 9-14).

Tyler Criscuolo drove in three for the Owls. Thomas Eletto and George Pappas both had two hits for the Chargers (11-23-1, 5-15-1 ).

Lasell 7, Albertus Magnus 4: Joe Sullivan had two hits and four RBIs for Lasell (23-15) in the opening round of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference tournament at Auburndale, Massachuse­tts. Tyriq Harris went 3-for-4 and scored twice for Albertus (20-14).

Bryant 8, Quinnipiac 6: Jake Gustin had two hits and three RBIs for Bryant (32-13) in a non-conference win at Smithfield, Rhode Island. Andre Marrero and Evan Vulgamore both drove in two runs for the Bobcats (19-24).

SOFTBALL

UConn 2, Quinnipiac 1 (11): Briana Marcelino delivered a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning, driving in Ashley Esty. with the winning run for UConn in a non-conference win at Storrs.

Katie Koshes allowed just three hits in 7 2⁄3 innings to win the game in relief for the Huskies (20-27). Hannah Davis had two hits for the Bobcats (16-30).

Johnson & Wales 2, Albertus Magnus 0: Kristin Frost tossed a four-hitter with 11 strikeouts for Johnson & Wales (21-18) in the opening round of the GNAC tournament at Providence, Rhode Island. Laura Anderson suffered the loss for the Falcons (19-17).
