H.O.R.S.E. of Connecticut: Inviting you to Christmas Open House
The Humane Organization Representing Suffering Equines, aka H.O.R.S.E. of Connecticut, will host its annual Christmas Open House Saturday, Dec. 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The fun starts with hourly tours to meet the horses. There also will be a silent auction with everything from toys to horse accessories, plus a baked goods sale with many items wrapped and ready to be given as gifts.
Other options include jewelry, assorted stuffed animals, wreaths, and handmade scarves and hats, a news release said. There will also be skin-care products and body lotions. All proceeds go directly toward the care of the horses.
“The tack shop is packed with too many items to list for our last ‘Tack Sale of 2020,’ so be sure to stop in,” the release said. “A few of our featured items are two Wintec Isabell Werth dressage saddles, one in almost new condition.
“For Western riders, we have a Gopher trail saddle and a Travis Bohannon roping saddle, both in excellent condition. We have a huge variety of other saddles, bridles, blankets, boots, helmets, grooming equipment and new and used equine clothing.”
If you’re looking for a gift for that person who has everything, there’s also several horses available for sponsorship. The cost is $50; that includes four visits per month during which you can groom, spend time with and hand-walk the horse.
H.O.R.S.E. of Connecticut is in its 39th year and social distancing guidelines will be followed at this annual fundraiser. The snow date is Sunday, Dec. 13.
