Yale closing mass vaccination, testing sites

- By Josh LaBella YNHH said any patient questions can be directed to call 833-275-9644.

NEW HAVEN — The Yale New Haven Health System announced that all of its mass vaccination and testing sites would be closed Monday, as the region prepares for a severe winter storm.

In a release on Sunday, YNHH said those scheduled for appointments would be notified directly and automatically rescheduled.

“All Yale New Haven Health COVID-19 Testing Sites will close at noon on Monday, Feb. 1 until noon on Tuesday, Feb. 2,” it said.

The announcement comes as the state prepares for a snowstorm in which some municipalities are expected to see up to 24 inches of snow.

Also on Sunday, the state Department of Public

Health announced that vaccine providers throughout the state may be forced to cancel vaccination appointments scheduled for Monday and possibly Tuesday, because of the storm.

DPH said it reached out to all vaccine providers instructing them to contact individuals whose appointments will be canceled and provide them with assistance and instructions for rescheduling their appointments at the earliest possible date.

State officials said they requested that vaccine providers update the statewide vaccination website as soon as possible with any storm closures.

The snowstorm may affect deliveries and distribution of the vaccine to the state’s providers, DPH said, adding the state is making every effort to facilitate the transport of the vaccine to avoid further disruption to appointments scheduled for this week.
