-

On Saturday, March 26, 2022, the Hurteau family lost a loving husband, father and poppy. After a brief illness, William Raymond Hurteau III passed away at the age of 64 with his devoted wife Marilyn by his side. William was born on May 4, 1957 in West Haven, Connecticut, to father William Raymond Hurteau Jr. and mother Dolores “Diane” Christe Hurteau. William was a proud U.S. Navy veteran (19771980), West Haven football star, volunteer firefighter, and owner of Hurteau Painting & Restoration for 40 years. He could always be depended on to show up at your door with his latest homemade sauce, or to help you out with whatever you needed – whether that was fixing something around the house or lending a listening ear. The wonderful life of William will always be celebrated and his spirit lives on. “It’s 3rd and 1… put Billy Hurteau in! He’s good for the first down every time!” William is survived by his wife, Marilyn Ettore Hurteau; son, William (Kathleen) Hurteau IV; and grandchildren Marceline and Henry William. He is also survived by his stepmom, Sheila Hurteau of

Cape Cod; siblings, Paul (Laurie) Hurteau of Bridgeport, Denise Fitzgerald of Massachusetts, and Michelle (Richard Sears) Hurteau of Killingworth; nieces, Ashley, Meghan, Carey and Christie; and many lifetime friends.

His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 830 Jones Hill Rd., West Haven, Saturday morning at 8:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Anthony’s Church, Washington Ave. New Haven at 9:00. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Buckingham Ave. Milford.
