Nicola “Nick” Liuzzi, 70, of Bethany, passed away unexpected­ly on Easter Sunday morning, April 17th, 2022 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 45 years to Linda Basilicato Liuzzi. Nick was born in Noci, Province di Bari, Italy on October 16, 1951 and was the son of the late Domenico and Rosa Notarnicol­a Liuzzi. He was drafted to the Vigili del Fuoco (Fire Fighters Division) in the Italian army, in 1970. In June of 1972, he came to this country. He worked at Precision Products in Wallingfor­d, CT as a tool and die maker from 1974 to 1981. In 1981, he along with his big brother Lino, founded LIUZZI CHEESE, where they would work together side by side for forty years. He had a passion for St. Padre Pio and ran many fundraiser­s for its society. Nick was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, enjoyed gardening, vintage cars, his pizza oven, but most of all, being with his family and friends whom he loved unconditio­nally. Lyla and Nicolas Drury. Devoted brother of Pasquale “Lino” Liuzzi, Franco Liuzzi, Nunzio Liuzzi and the late Rosa “Sisina” Fusillo and Giovanni Liuzzi. Brotherin-law of Vincenza and Teresa Liuzzi, the late Gilda and Rina Liuzzi and Nicola Fusillo. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

The visiting hours will be Sunday, April 24th from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at The Havens Family, North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Avenue, North Haven on Monday morning, April 25th at 10:00, to attend a Mass of Christian burial and are also invited to attend the committal service immediatel­y following in All Saints Cemetery.
