Margaret “Peggy” O’Neill Batick of North Branford, passed away peacefully at St. Raphael’s Hospital on April 21, 2022, after a long illness. She was predeceased by her husband of nearly 57 years, Robert Charles Batick, Sr. Peggy was born in New Haven, CT on February 12, 1943, to the late Margaret and Edward O’Neill.

Peggy was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in New Haven. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Walgreens for over two decades until her retirement. Peggy was a beloved wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother. She loved spending her free time reading, knitting, and baking. She enjoyed trips to the casino with her husband, attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, and spending time with friends and family. Peggy loved to send her baked goods to the neighbors as a show of gratitude for their kindness and was revered by her family for the world’s fluffiest scrambled eggs. She was forever grateful and truly appreciated even the smallest kind gesture. She was always welcoming and would make any visitor feel at home, immediately making them feel like they were part of her family. Peggy was open, caring, supportive, loyal, and non-judgmental. Her kids, grandkids, nieces, and nephews could do no wrong, and you always knew that you could tell her anything with nothing but love in response. Despite her health issues, she never complained, stayed upbeat and positive, and was far more concerned about what was new with you or how you were doing. Married to Bob for nearly 57 years, they barely spent a month apart before she left this earth be to be with him again. She will be dearly missed.

Peggy is survived by her sons, Edward Batick of Boulder, Colorado, and Robert Batick, Jr. of Guilford. Peggy is also survived by her sisters, Anne McGrath (Richard), Mary Raccio ( James), and Kathy Kilijanski (Robert); as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Peggy was predeceased by her brother, Vincent (Pamela) O’Neill.

There will be a visitation on Saturday, May 7, from 10am-12pm followed by a noon funeral service at Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Rd., North Branford, CT. Interment will occur at a later date.
