Geraldine Marie Bryan

-

Geraldine “Tibby” Bryan (maiden name Powers), of North Haven, departed this earthly life on May 14, 2022. Gerri was a beloved mother, nana, aunt, sister, and friend to many.

She is survived by her treasured daughter, Meghan, of whom she was especially proud; her sonin-law, Todd Solli; and their three children who gave her immense joy: Nicholas, Bryan, and Andie. She also leaves behind her brothers, John J Powers (Sandra) and Michael Powers (Patricia).

She was predeceased by her cherished husband, Edward J. Bryan; her parents, John J. Powers, Sr. and Geraldine Powers (Moriarty); as well as her dear sister, MaryEllen Cafferty (Powers); and her niece, Michelle Powers.

Gerri was an avid adventurer and world traveler whose nature was to explore; and this was the reason for her taking a position at United Airlines, where she worked for over 30 years, and where she eventually met Ed, her devoted husband.

She enjoyed her journeys to Australia, Hawaii, went dog-sledding on the Bering Strait in Alaska, visited Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England, France, Italy, Germany, skied in the Alps in Switzerland, and trekked to Austria, Portugal, Brazil, Bermuda, Aurba, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Disney World. Whenever she visited Disney World with her family, she raced her scooter

around the parks, sipping cocktails in Epcot and relishing an occasional Dole

Whip dessert in Magic Kingdom. Gerri was also particularly proud that she was able to also take her parents traveling around the world.

She loved to dance the jitterbug with her husband, Ed, and was a voracious reader, always with a novel in her hand.

In recent years, her favorite pastime was sitting on the deck with her Cheerios and blueberries; watching her grandchildren play in the pool/yard; enjoying long talks with Nicholas; receiving warm hugs from Bryan; and playing “school” with Andie.

Calling hours will be at Maresca & Sons Funeral Home from 4pm-7pm on Thursday, May 19, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Hamden at 10am on Friday, May 20, 2022. Interment will be private in Pearl River, NY.

Our family would like to thank everyone who took care of Mom at Yale, St. Raphael’s Mary Wade and CT Hospice. Offer condolences at marescafuneralhome.com
