David Eric Lendler, 44, of Norwell, MA, formerly of Branford, CT, passed away of cancer at home on July

29, 2022, surrounded by his beloved wife Kate (Vincent) Lendler and their three remarkable sons, Noah, Owen, and Elias.

Dave was born in New Haven, CT to Susanne Lendler Marsh and the late Eugene Lendler. Dave graduated from Hopkins in 1995 and during his teen years and beyond, he found great satisfaction working with groups from First Congregational Church of Branford to build and restore homes for those in need. He received a B.S. in computer engineering from Tufts University in 1999 and after college, he stayed in the Boston area, worked in technology, and met the love of his life, Kate.

Dave found joy in and excelled at many things, but the roles he cherished most were husband and father. Dave was a masterful storyteller, a great writer, and the life of every party, most of which he turned into a costume party. He made fast friends and lasting connections with his Tufts guys, kickball crew, and on Cross St. as the unofficial mayor. He was tall, fun, funny, and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Did we mention he was tall? Dave’s height was exceeded only by the scale of the tree house he envisioned building for the boys. Dave loved Star Wars, the Boston Celtics, the New England Patriots, and sharing those passions with his sons.

Although cancer robbed Dave of many things, it did not steal his sense of humor and he maintained his passion for life until the very end. He fought tenaciously and always with optimism, willing to endure countless surgeries, treatments, and clinical trials for any additional time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, boys, and mother, he will be greatly missed by others who survive him: his stepfather Charles “Chip” Marsh; his brother Robert and wife Jennifer; his sister Amanda Lendler and her husband Joseph Lawler; the Lendler and Lawler nephews; Kate’s parents, Robert and Christine Vincent; Kate’s brothers and sisters-in law, Mike and Carla Vincent and Jeff and Carole Vincent; the Vincent nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and too many friends to count. Dave was predeceased by his grandparents Elizabeth Klimas Lendler and Leslie and Alice Findell.

For those local to Connecticut, a Service of Remembrance will be held at First Congregational Church of Branford in Branford, Connecticut on Saturday, August 20, at 9:30 a.m.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Indian Pond Country Club located at 60 Country Club Way, Kingston, MA 02364. All who knew Dave or his family members are welcome to join anytime between 2 and 6 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Adenoid Cystic Research Foundation (https://accrf.org/) or Dana Farber (https://www.dana-farber. org/).
