WINDSOR LOCKS — Breeze Airways announced Wednesday that it would add next February four routes at Bradley International Airport, with the startup airline’s newest flights expanding the service between Connecticut’s flagship airport and several western states, as well as Florida.

Breeze’s expansion at Windsor Locksbased Bradley will include nonstop flights two days per week to Phoenix and Vero Beach, Fla., and one-stop, same-plane service two days per week to Provo, Utah, and San Bernardino, Calif.

“Breeze is always looking for opportunities to bring our fast, efficient, and affordable air service between underserved city pairs — and Hartford to Phoenix and Vero Beach are two prime examples,” Breeze Airways President Tom Doxey said in a statement. “When you add one-stop service to the west with our ‘seriously nice’ product, we’re bringing affordability, convenience and ease to our guests in and around Fairfield County.”

Salt Lake City, Utah-headquartered Breeze launched at Bradley in May 2021 and announced last February that the airport would become one of its hubs, with plans to create more than 200 jobs in the state. Breeze could receive a state grant of up to $1.26 million if it meets its job goals.

From Bradley, Breeze currently serves Charleston, S.C.; Columbus, Ohio; Jacksonville, Fla.; Las Vegas; Nashville, Tenn.; New Orleans; Norfolk, Va., Orlando, Fla., Pittsburgh; Richmond, Va.; Sarasota-Bradenton, Fla.; Savannah, Ga.; Tampa, Fla.; and Tulsa, Okla.

“Partnering with Breeze on their expansion has been transformative for Bradley International Airport,” Kevin Dillon, executive director of the Connecticut Airport Authority, which owns and operates Bradley, said in a statement. “Their national growth, ongoing innovation and expanding local network offer our passengers more opportunities to travel conveniently and affordably.”
