Dorothy Clark Reynolds

-

Dorothy Clark Reynolds, aged 88, formerly of West Haven, CT, and Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., passed away peacefully at her home in North Branford, surrounded by family on February 3rd, 2023.

She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Reynolds, her father C. Kenneth Clark, her mother Helen Gager Clark, and her beloved brothers, Robert and Douglas Clark.

“Dot” attended West Haven High School, class of 1952. After graduation, she focused on being a wife and mother, taking pride in keeping an immaculate home, cooking healthy meals straight from her large vegetable garden and also baking. She was an accomplished seamstress, always busy mending the neighbor’s clothing. She also enjoyed a 30-year career at Stop & Shop in Clinton, where she was known for her caring, kindness, and sense of humor towards customers and co-workers. She was known as being the fashion plate of the store, impeccably dressed and matching from head to toe. Dot was always a devoted member to her churches. Growing up at West Shore Beach in West Haven made her a lifelong beach lover who enjoyed gathering every Sunday in the summertime, with family and friends, by the water. Later in life she enjoyed traveling abroad and dinners out with family where she was known to get the party started, and being the first one up to dance at Chuck’s Steakhouse/Margaritas in Branford.

Dot would say her greatest joy in life was her children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren who all were devoted as much to her as she was to them. She is survived by her four loving children Janis Walsh (Ian), Nancy Rose, Jerry Reynolds, and David Reynolds (Suzanne). Her beloved grandchildren Jason Proffer (Hazel), Jared Rose (Ashley), Travis Walsh (Chloe), Ashley DiGangi (Peter), Kyle Reynolds (Rebecca), Crew and Cory Reynolds, Camden and Hansen Reynolds, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 19th from 12:00 - 2:30 pm at the West Haven funeral home 662 Savin Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Home Care Hospice in Branford, CT. In celebration of Dot’s life - please wear Bright colors!
