Connecticut celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with food, drink and parties
St. Patrick’s Day is approaching, and these Connecticut restaurants and bars are celebrating with parties, tastings, dinners and food and drink specials. Here’s where to find Guinness, corned beef and live music this month.

The Half Door in Hartford may have closed, but its annual St. Patrick’s Day party continues this year at sister Hartford restaurant Tisane Euro-Asian Cafe. The March 17 festivities start at 10 a.m. with kegs and eggs, with a ticketed buffet starting at noon. The event features live music, Irish step dancing, bagpipers, specials on Guinness and Jameson, corned beef and a DJ at night. $5 cover. Tigín Irish Pub and Restaurantin Stamford has a full schedule of events through March 18, including a LeproCon Party, a St. Patrick’s pub quiz, live music and an all-day party both inside the pub and outdoors in a tent on March 17, starting at 9 a.m. with brunch, live music and a special menu.
The Castle Black Rock in Bridgeport hosts a full week of St. Patrick’s Day events, including live music, trivia, Guinness pint glass engravings, $5 Tullamore Dew shots and live music and other entertainment all day March 17.
Wurst Haus in West Hartford celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with live music and specials on Guinness and whiskey drinks.
At BRYAC Black Rock in Bridgeport, March specials include “Irish clams” baked with corned beef, carrots and potatoes; a corned beef Reuben, corned beef on rye, a beer battered cod sandwich, and entrees of corned beef and cabbage and fish and chips.
The Tasty Yolk, with storefront and food truck locations in Stratford, Bridgeport, Southport and Fairfield, is featuring “The Corny Yolk” as its special of the month, with housemade corned beef, two eggs, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut topped with its “million island sauce” and served on marble rye.
Gruel Britannia in Fairfield offers St. Patrick’s Day specials like Irish soda bread, shepherd’s pie, bangers and mash pie, Irish whisky steak and pistachio-crusted salmon.
Colony Grill, with Connecticut locations in Fairfield, Milford, Norwalk and Stamford, will bring back its seasonal corned beef pizza for the holiday.
Elm City Social in New Haven will host an Irish whiskey dinner on March 17.
