MARY MOORE PRESERVE QUICK FACTS

The Bottom Line: Travel across the Red Mountain range, visiting the 181-acre Mary Moore Preserve, the 259-acre Hamlin Farm

Preserve and portions of the 268-acre Wike Brothers Farm easement in Sharon. The 6-mile out-and-back hike includes spectacular views of the northwest corner of Connecticut out to New York and Massachusetts and a journey through deep forests.

Difficulty Level: Easy to moderate.

Total Mileage: The trail from the parking area of Mary Moore to Hamlin is 2.9 miles. The trail to the main overlook is less than a mile.

Directions: Travel on Route 41 north for a few miles from the center of Sharon. Take a right on Williams Road and look for the parking area on the left. Visit the Sharon Land Trust online for a map of the parcel.
