Meghan Trainor bringing show to Mohegan Sun Arena this fall
Meghan Trainor hopes her first tour in over half a decade will be “timeless.” The singer-songwriter will perform a concert at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville on Sept. 21 at 6:30 p.m., the venue announced in a news release on Thursday.
The stop is part of Trainor’s “The Timeless Tour,” her first tour since 2016’s “The Untouchable Tour.” The tour takes its name from and celebrates her newly announced album titled “Timeless,” which is set to be released on June 14.
She noted on Instagram that the album “means so much” to her and she will share more information on it soon.
During her Connecticut stop, Trainor will be joined by rapper Paul Russell and actor Chris Olson, according to her website’s list of tour stops. Singer Natasha Bedingfield, known for the song “Unwritten,” will also join her during tour stops in New York, Colorado and California.
The pop star rose to fame in 2014 with her single “All About That Bass,” which was listed on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for 47 weeks, Billboard’s website reads.
She told Cosmopolitan that she wrote the song with producer Kevin Kadish as a “big anthem that’s about loving your body.”
She has since released several albums and earned awards including a Grammy for Best New Artist in 2016. Her last album, “Takin’ It Back,” was released in 2022 and focused on her journey through marriage, motherhood and “achieving a new level of confidence,” the news release read.
Aside from her music, Trainor has made appearances on reality TV shows such as “Australian Idol” and “THE FOUR: Battle for Stardom.”
She and her brother also launched a podcast titled “Workin’ On It,” on which they talk about topics ranging from Hollywood to mental health, its Apple Podcast page reads.
