⏩ Fred McKinney, the Carlton Highsmith Chair for Innovation & Entrepreneurship and director of the People’s United Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Quinnipiac University, recently was appointed to the state of Connecticut’s Minority Business Initiative Advisory Board.
⏩ The North Haven Knights of Columbus Council, consisting of more than 300 Catholic men from the North Haven/Wallingford/Hamden areas, installed their new officers for the 2020-2021 Fraternal Year. The installation took place outside their Council home at 22 Church St. in North Haven across from the Town Green. The General David Humphreys Branch No.1 SAR and Derby Historical Society presented a Revolutionary War Grave Marking Ceremony Oct. 17 at the Old Colonial Burying Ground in Derby. The SAR commemorated 54 Patriots who are buried at the oldest public burying ground in the Country. The Derby Historical Society is a regional historical society dedicated to preserving, maintaining and celebrating the rich and varied history of the Lower Naugatuck Valley. The Derby Historical Society welcomes all visitors and is also available to support researchers, school or other program needs.
