Excerpts from the responses

-

“I know something is wrong. I hope it doesn’t take surgery to help. The doc says I might feel like this moving forward. No one knows what this virus can really do.”

“My wife told me on the phone that her roommate was sick with a bad cold. I asked the nurse at the home if my wife should be moved. She told me that they were 10 feet apart with two curtains between them, not to worry.”

“I remember being not too concerned about being exposed, because the thinking then was that it was more of a risk to the elderly... we know differently now of course.”

“My routine is bordering on aimless. Having lost the love of my life, there is little meaning going forward.”

“Many people are now already suffering from acute anxiety if not PTSD. ... We are going to have another crisis after COVID-19 is finally gone.”

“Always act with kindness, especially during ugly times like this. You don’t know what other people are feeling or how they’re being affected.”

“Since we are now confined to a space, I’m responding to Roosevelt’s quote of: ‘Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.’ ”

“In NORMAL times (if they return) this lack of response should never ever have been the case.”

I would not have imagined, the the midst of the uncertainties and disruption of life due to coronavirus, that the Black Lives Matter marches and demonstrations would be the focus of our lives.

I heard about it at home on the news. I didn’t think it was a big deal. I figured it was another virus that would affect some people and will quickly pass. Never in a million years did I think it would make the entire world pause for this amount of time!
