Robert Steven Denaro, 41, of Branford, passed away on October 31, 2021.

Robert was born in the Bronx, NY to Robert and Vicki Denaro on April 30, 1980. He graduated from UMASS Dartmouth with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and later earned a Master’s Degree in Education from the University of New Haven. Skilled with his hands, Robert worked in construction and tree trimming for many years. Robert truly loved nature and adventure. He was passionate about travel and spent many years exploring the world; all the way from South America to Australia. He believed travel is the one thing you buy that makes you richer. Robert’s other passion was the sea. He found joy in spending time on the open water with his brothers and his many, many friends. He was at peace on the water and for half of every year his boat, The Island Stream, was his home.

Robert spent countless hours and many Thanksgiving mornings volunteering at the Branford Community Dining Room. He was the kind of person who helped anyone who needed it. It is because of his compassionate heart, that Robert believed very strongly in organ donation, to give life where otherwise may have been lost. This is a direct reflection of the person he was. It is in his death that he was able to help one final time, by giving the gift of life and hope to others.

Robert will be remembered by his kind heart, his quiet and completive demeanor, and the joy he brought to everyone who loved him. His energy and love will never be forgotten.

Robert is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frederick & Rosemary Tiedeman and paternal grandparents, Charles & Rita Denaro as well as aunt Gloria Dunn, and uncles Craig and Bruce Tiedeman.

Robert is survived by his parents, Robert and Vicki Denaro, his brothers Steven Denaro and Charles Denaro, his Aunts and Uncles, Connie and Ed Sasso, Ronnie and Thomas Molloy, and Roberta and Micheal Florella. As well as cousins Carey Tiedeman, Erica Molly, Tom Molloy, and countless other beloved family members.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 13th at the Branford Yacht Club at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Branford Community Dining Room in Robert’s name.
