Elizabeth (Betty) Maisano, 84, passed away on November 2, 2021, at the Watermark at East Hill in Southbury, CT. She was predecease­d by her loving husband of sixty years, Joseph J. Maisano, Jr., and her sister Margaret (Peggy) Cumiskey. Betty is survived by her three children, Joseph J. Maisano III (Lori), Lisa M. Butler (Jim) and Richard A. Maisano, as well as two grandchild­ren, Jacob and Caylee Butler, her sister-inlaw Ann Marie Maisano, and her nephew Shawn Cumiskey. Betty was born on August 16, 1937 in New Haven, CT to the late Alfred and Elizabeth (Glynn) Nutile. Betty graduated from North Haven High School in 1955. Betty worked in many fields throughout her life, beginning with several years at SNET. She worked as a silk screener, nurse uniform salesperso­n, and an Accounts Payable Specialist at Danbury Hospital. She was most proud of her work as Executive Secretary for the Connecticu­t Grounds Keepers Associatio­n. Betty and Joe spent many wonderful years together enjoying travels, and time with family and friends from Southbury, Bethel, North Haven, New Haven and surroundin­g areas. Betty was an advocate for many years for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Danbury, CT, where she and Joe led many support groups. Betty was honored to have been a ribbon-cutting Ambassador for Walk MS: Fairfield, sponsored by the National MS Society Walk. No visitation will be held. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury, CT, followed by interment at the New North Cemetery in Woodbury, CT. Heartfelt thanks to all the staff and workers at the Watermark at East Hill, as well as those from the Danbury Regional Hospice of CT, for their kindness, dedication, and compassion­ate care.
