Arthur Nicholas Ferrucci, Sr. of New Haven passed away April 13, 2022 in Yale New Haven Hospital-St. Raphael Campus. He is the beloved husband of 69 years of Phyllis Marchitto Ferrucci. Born in New Haven on July 30, 1930 son of the late Nicholas and Josephine Puglisi Ferrucci, Art was a proud US Air Force veteran attaining the rank of Staff Sargeant, stationed in Geneva, NY during the Korean Conflict. As a young boy, he delivered newspapers which began his career with the New Haven Register, ultimately becoming it’s Circulatio­n Director. After retirement from the Register, he continued his career as Circulatio­n Director for the Bridgeport Post. He was a member of the New England Associatio­n of Circulatio­n Executives, serving as President in 1976. As an avid boater, Art is a 65-year member of the New Haven Power Squadron, a member of City Point Yacht Club, former 30-year member of Branford Yacht Club, the Coast Guard Auxiliary West Haven Flotilla 1711 and served as a Past Commander. In 1980, dear friend and former Mayor, Biagio DiLieto, appointed Art to the New Haven Board of Police Commission­ers of which he was Chairman from 1984 until 1992. He was also appointed to the Police and Firemen’s Pension Board and served as it’s President from 1984-1990. Art was also appointed as a State Harbor Commission­er for New Haven in 1973 by Governor Ella T Grasso and served as President from 1976 until 2000. He was also a member of the Annex YMA and the West Haven Italian American Club and a past member of the Police Commission­ers Associatio­n of Connecticu­t and the New Haven Rotary Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by his devoted daughter Donna Ferrucci and her husband Robert Burrell; grandchild­ren Jamie (Lisa) Ferrucci, Arthur (Ashley) Ferrucci, III, Jennifer (Vincent) Benevento, Matthew (Maria) Ferrucci, and Amanda ( James) Arcangelo; sister Arlene; 18 greatgrand­children and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends whose relationsh­ips he cherished. He was predecease­d by his son Arthur Ferruci Jr. and great grandson Keanu Ferrucci.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday morning at 11:00 in St. Pio of Pietrelcin­a Parish at St. Bernadette Church 385 Townsend Ave. in New Haven.
