Rosa DiPaola Velardi

Rosa DiPaola Velardi, of New Haven passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on April 14, 2022. She was the wife of the late Luigi Velardi. Born in Amorosi, Italy on December 21, 1935 daughter of the late Pasquale and Maria Ferrucci DiPaola, Rosa grew up in Amorosi and moved to Milan, Italy and worked in Casa dello Studio. In 1973, she moved to the United States to join her family that immigrated before her. Her first jobs was at Henry Richards in Hamden and was later employed at US Surgical (Medtronic) for many years. Rosa enjoyed cooking for her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved sitting on her front porch near her beautiful flower garden greeting her neighbors and friends. Rosa loved to travel back to Italy to visit family and spend winters in Florida with her husband and close friends. Being with her family is what Rosa treasured most. She is the loving and devoted mother of Cosimo Amorotti and the late Daniela Amorotti. Sister of Pietro and John DiPaola and the late Anna DiPaola Tagliafierro, Linda DiPaola Saracco, and Gabriela DiPaola Esposito. Proud grandmother of Christian and Gabriela Amorotti. She also leaves many cherished niece and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday morning from 9:00-11:00 in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Place in New Haven.
